PRODUCT NEWS
Isuzu’s all-new entry in the Class 6 truck segment is uniquely positioned for today’s market requirements.
FTR showcases Isuzu’s commitment to the North American market. Designed at the Isuzu Technical Center of America (Plymouth, Michigan), FTR is built specifically for the ever-changing needs in North America. Production began May 8, 2017, at the new 80,000-square-foot Spartan Motors facility in Charlotte, Michigan. Many of its parts are also sourced in North America.
First-in-class
The Class 6 FTR features a highly efficient, turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that is one of the most reliable and proven in the segment. The 5.2-liter 4HK1-TC has a B10 durability rating of 375,000 miles and produces 520 foot-pounds of torque at 1,600 RPM and 215 horsepower at 2,500 RPM. It is mated to a durable and proven Allison six-speed transmission. FTR can also be fitted with a 50- or 100-gallon single fuel tank (depending on wheelbase) for extended range needs.
More maneuverable
FTR’s 50-degree inner cut wheel, along with its shorter low cab forward design, makes it easier for drivers to make sharp turns when navigating city streets. The tighter turning diameter helps save time by eliminating three-point turns synonymous with longer conventional cabs.
More room
With a wider, deeper and taller cab than its N-Series sibling, increased headroom and passenger volume of FTR’s Three-Across Cab provide the driver and passengers with more comfort.
Customizable
FTR is offered with eight different wheelbases (152–248 inches) to accommodate bodies from 14–30 feet. Its larger cab-axle space allows for longer bodies on the shorter wheelbase to accommodate its 25,950-pound GVWR.
Peace of mind
FTR is backed with a three-year/unlimited mileage Powertrain limited warranty and a four-year/unlimited mileage Corrosion limited warranty.
Low cost of ownership
FTR has excellent fuel economy and outstanding durability. Vehicle Health Reports and a comprehensive Multi-Information Display allow drivers and owners to monitor performance to help reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
