Vehicle life Cycle Cost Tool

Wednesday, March 6, 3–3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 7, 11–11:30 a.m.

Designed to be flexible and user-friendly to accommodate a variety of fleet needs, the new cloud-based Vehicle Life Cycle Cost Tool enables users to load differing depreciation methodologies to fit the necessary fleet analysis (such as straight-line, accelerated and pool depreciation techniques). You are able to incorporate the impact of income taxes into business decisions and perform what-if scenarios. Depending on needs, the template can support single-vehicle comparison decisions, vehicle class analysis and whole fleet calculations. It can also act as a forecast tool when paired with a price sensitivity analysis — often necessary when dealing with volatile fuel price scenarios.

Truck Equipment 201 (TE201)

Wednesday, March 6, 1–1:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 7, 2–2:30 p.m.
A firm grasp of certification is vital to delivering high-quality, safe vehicles to market. As part of an ongoing effort to support work truck industry employee education and training needs, NTEA developed TE201, an online course designed for those with technical knowledge seeking a deeper understanding of vehicle certification. Topics include U.S., Canadian and European Union processes as well as the influence of motor vehicle safety standards. TE201 is free to NTEA members and available for nonmember purchase.

Weight calculators

Wednesday, March 6, 11–11:30 a.m.
Thursday, March 7, 1–1:30 p.m.
Available now, NTEA’s Vehicle Center of Gravity & Axle Weight Calculator is a web-based, interactive tool providing vehicle specification and weight information. Interactive instructions make it user-friendly for those in your company responsible for weight distribution and center of gravity calculations. It’s a free NTEA member benefit — not available for public purchase. Learn more at ntea.com/weightcalculator.

TruckScience offers its cloud-based calculator to NTEA members at a discounted rate. This tool comes with a library of pre-populated specifications and drawings, and features such as payload optimization, compliance indicators and drag-and-drop design.

When upfitting or modifying a vehicle, calculations from both resources produce information to share with customers, and assist in understanding how certain industry standards may apply — both in spec’ing prior to purchase and after upfitting is complete.

Thursday, March 7, 3–3:30 p.m.
