
Work Truck Show 2010 attendees took the wheel or rode in innovative and cutting-edge work trucks showcasing the latest hybrid technology and alternative fuel applications. St. Louis Regional Clean Cities arranged a grant to provide fuel for all vehicles.
Participating companies included:
Bosch Rexroth Corporation – An ALF Condor 880S chassis with a refuse hauler body and a Bosch Rexroth hydraulic hybrid drive system.
Chelsea Products Div. of Parker – A Dodge 4500 chassis, upfitted with a dump body and snow plow that utilizes a Parker Chelsea hydraulic “Stored Energy” system to power the accessory equipment.
Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation – A Freightliner Custom Chassis walk‐in van rated at 10,500 GVW that is equipped with an all‐electric (battery) drive system.
Freightliner Trucks – A Freightliner model M2‐106 chassis equipped with a van body and powered by an Eaton parallel electric hybrid drive system.
Freightliner Trucks – A Freightliner M2‐112 tandem rear‐axle tractor equipped with a Cummins Westport CNG fuel system.
Knapheide Manufacturing Company (The) / CleanFUEL USA – A Chevrolet Express G4500 cutaway van equipped with a Knapheide KUV body and modified with a CleanFUEL USA liquid propane injection system.
International Truck – A Navistar model EV all‐electric drive (battery) cargo van with a rating of 12,300 GVW.
NGVAmerica / Baker Equipment – A GMC 2500 series utility van equipped with a 4.8 liter engine that has been equipped to operate on compressed natural gas using the Baker EVOTEK fuel system.
NGVAmerica / Baker Equipment – A Ford Transit Connect utility van rated at 5,005 GVW that has been equipped to operate on compressed natural gas using the Baker EVOTEK fuel system.
NGVAmerica / Steelweld Equipment Co., Inc. – A Ford E‐350 van equipped with a BAF Technologies CNG fuel system and upfitted for a utility service application.
Odyne Systems LLC – A Ford F‐550 utility truck equipped with a 29 foot aerial lift that utilizes an Odyne Plug‐in electric hybrid drive system (parallel).
Parker Hannifin Corp. – An Autocar WXR chassis (6 x 4) upfitted with a refuse collection body and equipped with a Parker Hannifin Advanced Series Hydraulic hybrid drive system.
Peterbilt Motors Company – A Peterbilt model 337 chassis that has been upfitted with a service body and aerial device and is powered by an Eaton parallel electric hybrid drive system (with E‐PTO).
Propane Education & Research Council / Roush Performance – A Ford E‐350 passenger van that has been converted to operate on propane, utilizing a Roush Performance liquid propane injection fuel system.
Smith Electric Vehicles – A Smith Newton all electric drive (battery) cargo van with a 22,000 GVW rating.
