Since 1987, NTEA has utilized an Accumulated Priority Point Sign-Up System to determine the order in which companies may select and reserve space for NTEA’s Work Truck Show. Companies earn these points through their support of NTEA and its trade show (as described below). Accumulated points are updated each year just prior to the next year’s sign-up meeting.

Earning and calculation of points
Priority points are accumulated each year as follows:
- Two (2) points for each year a company exhibits in The Work Truck Show.
- One (1) point for each year a company maintains NTEA membership.
- NEW IN 2015 — One (1) point for 15–24 free passes, two (2) points for 25–40 free passes and three (3) points for 41 or more free passes utilized and validated for nonmember attendance at The Work Truck Show.
- One (1) point for Work Truck Show annual sponsorship exceeding $10,000.

How points are earned for sign-up: (2) points for each year you have exhibited at The Work Truck Show; one (1) point for companies maintaining NTEA membership through the current Work Truck Show; up to three (3) points for the free pass program for the current Show; up to three (3) points for Work Truck Show or Green Truck Summit sponsorship.
Group designation, exhibit space selection and sign-up procedures
Prior to the sign-up meeting, companies are placed in designated groups by total accumulated points (as described above). They are advised of their current total accumulated points and group designation, which is determined each year based on the following schedule:
Platinum — Top five highest accumulated point totals
Gold — Next 10 highest accumulated point totals
Silver — Next 10 highest accumulated point totals
Bronze — Next 10 highest accumulated point totals
A through Conclusion - Next 15 highest accumulated point totals per group
The sequence is built until all companies have been designated to a group for the booth selection process. In the event of a tie in point totals for group designation, companies would default to the higher category for booth selection.
At the sign-up meeting, participants in the Platinum through S Group are called forward by group to select space (one representative per company), beginning with the group containing those with the highest number of accumulated points. A lottery drawing is held within each group at the time the group is called to determine the order in which those companies may select space. The lowest lottery number drawn selects first; the second lowest number drawn selects second, and so on until all companies in the group have had the opportunity to select space. The selection process continues at the sign-up meeting until all companies through Group S have had the opportunity to select space.
Immediately after selecting exhibit space and before leaving the sign-up room, an authorized representative from the exhibiting company must sign an NTEA Application & Contract for Exhibit Space and all applicable forms. A 25 percent nonrefundable deposit is due to NTEA within 30 days of contract approval by the Association.
Accumulated points and sign-up policies
The following policies are in place and enforced to protect the interests of all exhibitors and maintain as equitable a sign-up process as possible.
- Only companies holding an official NTEA Accumulated Points Notification & Drawing Pass (Points Pass) may participate in the sign-up meeting. Those desiring space that have not accumulated any points can fill out a booth request form and will be contacted after all companies with priority points have selected. Only one company will be assigned to each exhibit space; therefore, only one company name will be listed and published in Show materials as the exhibitor in that space.
- During its sign-up turn, a company holding a Points Pass may simultaneously select exhibit space for multiple company/ies only when all of the following conditions are met:
- All co-located company/ies are divisions, subsidiaries of the selecting company or the have controlling ownership within each other and each entity must be an NTEA member. The space selected must be contiguous space and exhibitor with the highest points selects. No isles are permitted.
- If aisles are created to divide booth space, all co-located company/ies are divisions, subsidiaries of the selecting company or they have controlling ownership within each other and each entity must be an NTEA member. All company priority points will be averaged for a final priority point total for exhibitor sign up.
- EXAMPLE: Division or subsidiary company one has 87 points, company two has 60 points and company three has 30 points, their average priority point number would total 59 points.
- The selecting company immediately subdivides its chosen space among itself and its divisions or subsidiaries into minimum 10-foot by 10-foot spaces (congruent with the established Show floor plan) and the selecting company and each division or subsidiary is contracted individually with NTEA at the prevailing rate.
- If an individual representative is holding Points Passes and selecting space for more than one company within the same group, the representative must draw multiple lottery numbers and select one space for each company in the order drawn.
- If an individual representative is holding Points Passes and selecting space for more than one company in different designated groups, the representative must follow the selection order and procedures for each group.
If a company holding a Points Pass misses the calling of its group during the sign-up meeting, its representative will be placed at the back of the line of the group currently in progress.
- Accumulated points cannot be combined or shared between companies. However, accumulated points may be transferred if one company having accumulated points is purchased by or merges with another company having accumulated points. In that situation, the surviving company will assume the higher accumulated points of the two but not the combined total points.
